Fintech crowdfunding platform Livestock Wealth now allows investors to own farmland.
Livestock Wealth CEO and founder Ntuthuko Shezi said the new venture allows investors to buy a share of a professionally managed farm over 10 years.
The company’s investment platform offers crop and livestock investment opportunities to people who are not farmers but like the idea of being part of a farming enterprise. It also has a funding model to help farmers who need working capital for expansion projects.
The new farmland investment product provides access to farm ownership for South Africans who may not have access to land, time or agricultural skills.
“Livestock Wealth is proud to introduce the next chapter in its investment assets to satisfy the desire of many South Africans to own productive land,” said Shezi.
Livestock Wealth researches and sources strategic farms for purchase, either at auction or directly from farmers. Through crowdfunding, investors purchase shares in the farm. Dividends are earned from annual rental income, and when the farm is sold investors receive a return on their investment.
“When you invest R50,000 in a Farmland Investment, you will see rental returns of 4% per year at the very least,” said Shezi.
The company says its investment farms will be managed and run by qualified farmers, growing in value as productivity and profitability increase.
Shezi recommends co-ownership to share costs, professional and vetted farmers, and excellent management to ensure sustainability. “Your land investment will be safeguarded by us, ensuring it becomes a cherished legacy to nurture and pass on to future generations,” he said.
