Janmarck Beefmasters, owned by brothers Jannie, Bismarck and Tabbie du Plessis from Bethlehem, held a successful production auction, with all the bulls selling at an average price of R85,000.
Rugby supporters will remember Jannie and Bismarck as former Springbok players.
The highest price was achieved for the bull JAN 20-47, which was sold to Wynand and Philip Potgieter of NGB Beefmasters from Thabazimbi for R260 000.
Two bulls were sold for R180 000 each to Kandys Beefmasters from Theunissen, and Jonah Mtanga from Johannesburg.
Female animals also fetched good prices. The highest price, R46,000, was for a pregnant heifer purchased by Beef On Grass from Pienaarsrivier.
BKB Bethlehem arranged the auction, and Jan Mostert was the auctioneer.
