Zinabos Bonsmaras, Fourie Scheepers’ auction held on August 4 at Hoogland farm in Fouriesburg, achieved excellent prices.
As usual, good breeding material was available.
The most expensive bull (CEF 21-0336) was sold to Gerhard Strydom from Benmore for R280 000. The second most expensive bull (CEF 20-0410) was sold to Jinta Trading of Zambia – owned by JH de Jager and Graham Mulders – for R260 000.
Bulls averaged R81 000.
The most expensive cow (CEF 13-0201) with a calf was sold to Izusa Carriers from White River for R57 500, while the most expensive pregnant cow (CEF 13-0181) was sold to Fanus Momberg’s Dynamic Infrastructure for R52 500.
Cows with calves averaged R44 000, and pregnant cows averaged R30 333.
Commercial female animals were sold at an affordable average of R20 400.
Swiftvee and BKB Bethlehem conducted the auction.
