Two Angus bulls were recently sold at different auctions for record prices.
A new South African record price of R260 000 was paid on August 11 for the red Angus bull Roechama Elevation (RCM 19-0088) at the Angus Alliance auction in Kroonstad.
The bull was bred by RC Malherbe of the Roechama Stud in Hertzogville and was purchased by Nico Pienaar of the Mclaren Stud in Bloemfontein. The auction was presented by André Kock and Sons, with the auctioneer being Hennie Ville.
The new record price of R310 000 for a black Angus was paid at the Midlands Elite auction in Nottingham Road.
The bull, E 20-0089, was bred by Martin Watson of RDM Farming, Dargle. The buyer was Revell Saint of Kembali Farm, Kei Mouth. Andrew Miller was the auctioneer.
