Communities, producers and agricultural enterprises can collaborate to address problems and challenges, and jointly find solutions.
Agri Western Cape’s Agri Synergy initiative was introduced for this purpose last week at Nampo Cape.
It is a structured platform where producers, agricultural businesses and rural communities can engage in discussions, exchange information and cooperate to seek solutions to problems that affect them.
“Many businesses ask us how they can get involved in what Agri Western Cape is doing,” said CEO Jannie Strydom.
“Because members of organised agriculture are also part of their local communities and customers of agricultural enterprises, with this initiative we want to bring the parties together for the benefit of all and thus help create and maintain a healthy agricultural environment. Initiatives where a real difference can be made can be identified during networking events.”
Strydom described Agri Synergy as “a structure that we’re formalising to involve agricultural businesses. We want partners to see the value in what we do and then work with us and strengthen our hands.
“A healthy agricultural environment is good for its community, and therefore the principle of Agri Synergy is based on stimulating discussions between the three parties and thus fostering relationships, cooperation and growth.”
Agri Western Cape aims to share successes achieved in the Western Cape to benefit more people.
The target dates for Agri Synergy’s official launch are at the end of October. In the meantime, Strydom can be contacted at Agri Western Cape for more information.
