The Droughtmaster stud On Top’s first production auction at the Paardefontein farm, Standerton, was a big success.
Vlekkie and Jaco van der Merwe of Merwede Droughtmasters in Ghanzi, Botswana, paid the highest price of R220 000 for Beast (AGO 18-019). Beast is a proven bull with good balance and depth.
Two bulls were sold for the second-highest price of R180 000 each.
The 17 bulls on auction fetched an average price of R129 706. Female animals also achieved good prices.
Johan van der Nest was the auctioneer and SHM hosted the auction. Buyers could also bid online via Meerkat’s platform.
