In this week’s episode of African Farming (Honey, channel 173, Tuesdays at 17:00) AFGRI Animal Feed showed what it’s capable of.
Access to good quality feed is essential for any livestock production. Many farmers in South Africa, however, live in rural areas far from any retail store. Add to this challenge the fact that feed prices have recently gone up and a farmer has some problems on hand. Luckily for farmers in Mzansi, AFGRI offers a solution to good quality feed.
The primary goals and objectives of the AFGRI model when it comes to offering farmers good quality feed, is to give valuable and technical support to the farming communities in which they serve. AFGRI Animal Feeds want to build relationships with the farmers and want to play an integral part within their farming communities. The company also strives to have products available to help farmers with their farming inputs, and to ensure that all their farming requirements can be met under one roof.
Feed any animal
AFGRI Animal Feed can basically feed any animal. You name it, and AFGRI can feed it – pigs, cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits. They offer various product ranges for different species. AFGRI also cater to the different markets in that they have more affordable products that the small-scale farmer or subsistence farmers might prefer, but also higher-spec feeds which are a bit more expensive for the bigger commercial farms.
Delivered to your door
This feed is available in AFGRI’s retail stores, but AFGRI Animal Feed also offer the option to deliver it to straight to the farm. They can deliver feed within three days if it’s bulk loads, if it’s bag loads, they deliver within five days.
Should they not have stock on the floor, they will source food within five days so that fresh feed is available on the farm. AFGRI Animal Feed delivers each week, which helps farmers with their cashflow, since they can buy stock every week and don’t have to buy for the whole month.
