Buyers snapped up top-quality Simmentaler breeding material at Tierkloof Simmentalers’ first production auction at Danielsrus Farmers’ Association hall.
The most expensive bull, FOD 20-94, was sold to the Johan Steyn Family Trust from Kroonstad for R115 000. Bulls averaged R52 181.
The most expensive cow, FOD 19-53, with bulk calf FOD 23-45, was sold for R65 000, also to the Johan Steyn Trust. Cows with calves averaged R32 916 and cows averaged R24 200.
Corné de Jager of Tierkloof Simmentalers expressed pride in his breeding material that he has been able to develop over the years.
The auction was handled by Clive Gardner Auctioneers, and Theuns Visser was the auctioneer.
