The sixth production auction of the Au Albidus Brahman Stud and invited sellers on October 28 yielded good prices and saw an impressive turnover of R5 043 000.
A total of 75 buyers registered for the live auction, while 39 buyers placed bids online.
The most expensive bull (LT 20-18) was sold by Eltricha Brahmans of Alma to DNS Brahmans of Vaalwater for R170 000. Stud bulls achieved an average price of R61 250.
Pregnant stud cows averaged R33 333, cows with calves averaged R38 333, pregnant heifers averaged R30 500 and semen straws averaged R841. Non-pregnant commercial heifers achieved an average price of R14 833.
The auction was conducted by Vleissentraal Bosveld, with Mike Killassy as the auctioneer.
