Severe thunderstorms and wind that could cause damage are possible today in parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga. Strong winds may also occur in parts of the Northern Cape and Western Cape.
The South African Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall, large amounts of small hail and damaging wind in the western parts of Limpopo’s Bushveld and eastern parts of Mpumalanga.
The storms may lead to local flooding of roads, low-lying areas and bridges, and local damage to vehicles and structures.

The weather service also issued a yellow level 1 warning for wind that may cause damage in southern inland parts of the Namakwa District Municipality in the Northern Cape, and the Western Cape’s Breede Valley Local Municipality and Central Karoo District Municipality.

Isolated to scattered rain and thundershowers are expected over the eastern parts of South Africa.
