For over a decade Boerekos, the popular food magazine of African Farming’s sister publication Landbouweekblad, has been a cherished fixture in kitchens from the serene farms of Prieska to the bustling streets of Paris, France. Now, we’re thrilled to elevate the experience by bringing the soul of modern farm cuisine to Nampo, the largest agricultural showcase in Southern Africa, taking place in Bothaville from 14 to 17 May.
Step into the heart of culinary tradition at the Syngenta Boerekos Plaaskombuis, conveniently situated on the southwest side of the Nampo grounds. We welcome you early for coffee and rusks or a refreshing iced tea or fruit juice, and from 11am to 4pm daily we invite you to savour a sumptuous lunch.
What’s in store?
Prepare to be seated in a space that accommodates 150 guests and treated to restaurant-quality meals at prices that will make you smile, all crafted under the expert guidance of Boerekos editor Arina du Plessis and the skilled team from The Roots Academy chef school in Potchefstroom.
Picture freshly baked flatbreads with tender shredded beef, butter chicken skewers, mouthwatering lamb ribs on a bed of Free State cornmeal, and tantalising pork nachos.
With such an enticing variety, you’ll be eager to try every dish! Our selection of exceptional non-alcoholic beverages is sure to satisfy your thirst. From zero-alcohol beer and unique rooibos tea blends to speciality fruit and vegetable juices and non-alcoholic G&Ts, we have something for every palate.
In the restaurant’s exclusive VIP area, businesses can host product launches and entertain clients with our modern farm food, presented in the abundant style of a harvest table. (For reservations, please email events@landbou.com)
Chris Burgess, editor of Landbouweekblad, says: “It’s a special honour for Landbouweekblad to welcome guests to our new Plaaskombuis restaurant, in partnership with our friends at Syngenta. Agriculture is all about the food and the dedicated people who produce it. No one embodies this spirit more than Boerekos editor Arina du Plessis, who was raised on a farm in the Koue Bokkeveld. It’s Arina’s signature dishes, beloved by readers of Boerekos magazine, that we’ll be showcasing at the Plaaskombuis restaurant.”
