According to seller Chris Richter, Perfect is a proven herd sire bred from two of Richter Simbras’ best performers, Prairie and Ruben. Both these bulls sold for record prices at previous auctions. “This bull is the right kind of medium-frame bull that will last well,” said Richter.
The buyer was Crause Becker of Sanleo Simbras in Warden, who said he was delighted with his purchase after he made an unsuccessful attempt to buy Perfect’s sire.
“We simply couldn’t pass up this bull and are very grateful that we could buy him. He is a very good and correct bull; something we need very much on the farm.”
The 30 stud bulls on offer were sold at an average price of R94 423.
Richter said in a difficult year he was happy to improve on last year’s average price of R85 000. “All the animals offered for sale were sold, for which we are very grateful.”
The auction was hosted by Vleissentraal and online by Swiftvee, and Ian Grobbelaar was the auctioneer.
