The three-year-old bull DYS 211081 was sold for R145 000 to buyer Henry Keyter from Marquard.
The auction took place on 9 August at the farm Brakfontein near Theunissen. Prinsloo started the stud in September 2012 with 20 pregnant Beefmaster heifers to produce bulls for crossbreeding with a Simbra maternal line.
The average price of the bulls was R63 000. The most expensive lot of pregnant heifers sold for R26 000 each, purchased by Success farming from Paarl. The average price for pregnant heifers was R24 660, for pregnant cows R17 225, and for non-pregnant heifers R13 400.
BKB Kroonstad and the Meerkat online platform hosted the auction. Jan Mostert was the auctioneer.
