The auction was held on 28 August at the farm Rheederskop in the Jamestown district of Stellenbosch. Three bulls were each sold for the sale’s highest price of R60 000.
VPBM 210044 (lot 5) was sold to J&A Pieterse of Richmond in the Northern Cape. R Rossouw of Aliwal North bought VPM 210057 (lot 10). VPM 210001 (lot 17) was sold to Antrobus Farming of Cradock. Bulls were sold for an average price of R41 736, and pregnant cows for R14 000.

After the Beefmasters, it was the Merinos’ turn. The highest price for a ram was for lot 3, which sold for R7 000. Brendon Muir of Leeufontein near Dordrecht bought the ram for his son, Bryan Muir, also from Dordrecht.
The average price for rams was R5 200, ewes pregnant with singles were sold at an average of R2 250, and ewes pregnant with twins fetched an average price of R2 300. Vleissentraal hosted the auction, and André van Zyl was the auctioneer.
