The production auction of the Swaershoek Bonsmara and Rooihoekpoort polled Merino stud of Sandré Erasmus from Rooipoort, Cradock, yielded a solid turnover of nearly R2,9 million, with fair average prices in tight economic circumstances.
The most expensive bull was WDS 220034, which was sold for R110 000 to Jacobus le Roux from Fort Beaufort. The average price of the 23 bulls was R65 217,39.
The average price of the 10 cows was R8 750,67, pregnant cows were sold for an average of R13 447,76, and heifers for R7 750.
The most expensive ram was sold for R20 000 to Tommie Calldo from Victoria West. The average price of the 29 rams was R8 724,14.
