South Africa Wine has launched a 2024 Graduate Placement Programme to build the skills of the next generation of wine professionals and create a more inclusive workforce.
The programme aims to connect tertiary graduates, particularly black graduates, with six- to 12-month placements across the industry, including viticulture, winemaking, logistics, export management and industrial engineering.
“We believe in the transformative power of skills development. By facilitating meaningful placements for graduates within our member companies, we are advancing individual growth and strengthening the industry’s capacity for innovation and sustainability,” said Kachné Ross, South Africa Wine people and skills development manager.
Agrijob and South Africa Wine will provide recruitment services free to member companies. Agrijob will work closely with businesses to match them with suitable graduates, while South Africa Wine will contribute R5 000/month to each placed graduate’s salary to assist companies with hiring new talent at competitive rates.
Employers in the South African wine businesses are invited to join the Graduate Placement Programme. To join, contact kachne@sawine.co.za or 021 276 0450.
