African Farming editor, Lebogang Mashala, attended a recent stakeholder engagement and workshop focused on the commercialisation of the goat industry, organised by the Agricultural Research Council (ARC) and Ekim Wildlife at the ARC head office in Hatfield, Pretoria. He chatted with Chef Andile Somdaka.
Andile is the owner of Eziko Restaurant and a former chef for the late President Nelson Mandela, emphasised the importance of including goat meat on hotel and restaurant menus. He believes that this will encourage goat meat consumption. Somdaka also reiterated the commitment of the Chef Association of South Africa to support this initiative.
