The South African Fatstock Judging Association (SAFJA) recently hosted a three-day course to train stakeholders in the country’s red meat value chain to accurately assess and correlate the quality of live fatstock and of the carcass each of these animals produces.
The course, which was held in KwaZulu-Natal’s Ladysmith district, culminated in a gala dinner to celebrate not only the course graduates, but also to award the producers and processors of top carcasses nationwide during 2024.
Stalwarts of South Africa’s red meat value chain were also honoured for their valued contributions over the years.
