Although the 40 hectares that Nampo Park occupies outside Bothaville has not increased in size, the selection from exhibitors has undoubtedly grown, with over 920 exhibitors already getting ready to head to Bothaville in May. The Nampo Harvest Day is presented for the 57th time this year, from 13 to 16 May.
In 2024, over 870 exhibitors showcased their services and products to visitors at this massive expo. This year, the Nampo Harvest Day reaffirms its status as the largest and most influential agricultural show in the Southern Hemisphere, featuring more than 920 exhibitors.
This expanded offering features exhibitors with stalls in the popular KamersMakers market exhibition area. Here, carefully curated products ranging from handmade art to lifestyle items will be showcased in a 200m² area of the grounds.
This year’s theme is “Global Agriculture, Local!” According to a statement from Grain SA, while agriculture worldwide faces challenges and increasingly interconnected food systems, in 2025 the spotlight shifts to how local producers can leverage global knowledge, networks and innovation to enhance the country’s agriculture.
True to its reputation, Nampo 2025 is designed to showcase the latest global agricultural innovations tailored to local conditions within a uniquely South African context. It continues to serve as a one-stop platform where producers, agricultural businesses and service providers can meet, collaborate and conduct business.
“Global Agriculture, Local” is not just a theme – it offers a timely lens through which South African grain producers can see their role in a rapidly changing agricultural economy. The exchange of ideas, technology and practices across national borders offers unprecedented opportunities for producers to strengthen their resilience, competitiveness and sustainability. From climate-smart practices to precision agriculture, South African producers are part of a global knowledge network – but with deep roots in local soil.
Dr Dirk Strydom, managing director of Nampo (Pty) Ltd., emphasises that South African producers understand they do not farm in isolation. “What happens globally – including innovation, trade flow and climate change – affects the local landscape. Nampo provides access to global agriculture in one location, offering immediately applicable solutions. It remains the ultimate one-stop opportunity for any serious participant in the agricultural sector.”
Farm Kitchen returns
The popular Syngenta Boerekos Farm Kitchen, which was at Nampo for the first time last year, is back this year – bigger, better and tastier! Enjoy restaurant-quality dishes at affordable prices, with top-quality meat and poultry from five selected suppliers.
The menu is compiled by Arina du Plessis, editor of Landbou Boerekos, and prepared by the team from The Roots Academy in Potchefstroom. Dishes include freshly baked flatbreads topped with pulled beef, salsa, and sour cream; crispy golden chicken strip rotis; and juicy pork neck or beef burgers served with potato wedges. Enjoy your meal in a farm-style atmosphere or easily take it away with you.
Early morning visitors can also enjoy fresh coffee and homemade rusks.
Meanwhile, Nampo’s popular food stalls run by schools, churches and community organisations will provide even more choices in 2025.
New caravan park
A newly constructed caravan park, featuring 100 power connection points and two ablution blocks, has been established south of the grounds near gate 2. It provides convenient access to the park and flexible accommodation options. Bookings can be made online at www.kleinbroekskool.co.za.
Grain SA Museum
Another addition is the recently unveiled Grain SA Museum, proudly established by Santam. It is situated to the west of the park and narrates the organisation’s journey and the transformation of the Harvest Day over the years. It is a must-see for anyone who wants to honour the roots of South African grain production.
