Here’s a summary of the weather forecast for 12-13 April.
🌧️A ridging high-pressure system combined with a steep upper-level trough (possibly cutting off and developing into a CUT-OFF LOW) will bring COLD and WET weather to parts of KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Free State this Tuesday, with an influx of moisture from the north bringing SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS to parts of the Northern Cape and North West.
🌨️ A mix of rain and snow is also likely late Tuesday into early Wednesday over the mountains in Lesotho.
⚠️IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS issued by SAWS ⚠️ 🟡 Yellow Level 4: Disruptive rainfall resulting in flooding of roads and settlements (formal and informal) and major disruption of traffic flow due to major roads being flooded or closed is expected over most parts of KwaZulu Natal except in the north-east.
🟡Yellow Level 2: Disruptive Rain resulting in heavy downpours which will lead to flooding of susceptible areas, roads and bridges, localized damage to properties and temporal disruptions of municipal services is expected in over the southern parts of Mpumalanga.
🟡Yellow Level 2: Severe thunderstorms leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas or bridges as well as localised damage to settlements over an open area are expected over the north-eastern parts of Northern Cape.
