Like prizefighters in their respective weight classes, each of the 2 900 animals that will be competing in Brazil’s prestigious ExpoZebu 2025 competitions were weighed in over the weekend. Strict weight limits are applied for each of the judging categories. An animal – and, by extension, its breeder – risks being disqualified before even entering the arena if the animal weighs so much as one kilogram outside of the minimum and maximum parameters.
African Farming and its sister publication, Landbouweekblad, are at ExpoZebu 2025 as guests of the Brazilian Zebu Breeders Association.
