African Farming hosted a group of 17 farmers from Thaba’Nchu on the third day of Nampo 2025 for our first Nampo farmer tour.
After the roaring success of our very first farmer tour, African Farming is gearing up to take this experience to a whole new level in 2026. But this isn’t just a tour, it’s a journey of purpose, connection and transformation. We’re redefining what it means to attend Nampo, turning it from an expo visit into an unforgettable, enriching experience tailored for farmers who are hungry to grow, learn and lead.

This year’s tour was nothing short of inspiring. We kicked off at the iconic John Deere stand, where Sibongiseni Ngqukumba and Nhlanhla Subuya brought the future of farming to life through cutting-edge tractor technology. Farmers from the Free State were so inspired and two of them exchanged contact details on the spot. That’s the power of real opportunity!

Then it was off to the AFGRI stand, where Sylvester Lubambo introduced the group to the life-changing AFGRI Farmer Development programme.

At the Pannar stand, Reggie Mchunu opened minds with powerful insights and unwavering support tailored for real farmer needs.

The day ended with warmth and reflection over a hearty lunch at our sister publication, Landbouweekblad’s restaurant, the Syngenta Boerekos Plaaskombuis – a moment of connection, laughter, and renewed purpose.
But this is only the beginning. We’re not just planning tours; we’re building platforms of empowerment. Every visit, every handshake, every conversation is rooted in our mission: to promote food security, equip farmers with actionable knowledge and connect them with real resources that drive progress. In 2026, we’re expanding these tours across the entire Nampo week because every farmer deserves to walk away with more than just a brochure. They deserve direction, inspiration, and hope. And that’s exactly what African Farming delivers.
