Ford is currently making the necessary arrangements with the 25 owners of 2024 Ford Ranger bakkies that are being reviewed because a faulty part may have been installed.
According to Ford, these bakkies were manufactured between 29 October and 7 November last year at its Silverton plant in Pretoria. The 25 bakkies are believed to be in South Africa and Botswana.
Ford has since determined an incorrect front lower control arm was installed on the left side of the bakkies. This faulty part can make it difficult to control the steering wheel, which increases the risk of an accident or injury. It can also cause clanking or knocking noises in the suspension or underbody.
Ford is currently contacting all customers affected by this. These customers should take their bakkies to their chosen Ford dealer for inspection and so that the necessary repairs can be made. The repairs will be done free of charge.
Customers who wish to check whether their Ford vehicle is affected by the recall or any other recall can visit www.ford.co.za/owner/recalls/ and enter their VIN number in the search bar.
