Principal Philile Majozi warmly welcomed attendees to the Farmers Day Programme at Ekurhuleni Agricultural College with an inspiring message about agricultural education and development.
In her passionate address, Principal Majozi highlighted the college’s mission to train aspiring farmers and support their agricultural journeys. She proudly shared how the institution has grown from just five students in 2010 to now having the capacity to train 300 students annually in 2025.
Principal Majozi emphasises that successful farming requires resilience, focus and genuine passion. “Farming demands hard work, sweat and dedication,” she noted, while encouraging newcomers to “start small” and grow gradually.
The college offers comprehensive training across various agricultural disciplines, including plant production, animal production, mixed farming, hydroponics, poultry, livestock and piggery.
Principal Majozi stressed the importance of hands-on, practical training, stating that mastery in agriculture cannot be achieved without getting your hands dirty.
While acknowledging the challenges inherent in farming, Principal Majozi remains optimistic about the rewards awaiting those who approach agriculture with passion and perseverance.
“We are delighted to have you join us for this special day, and we hope the knowledge shared here will inspire your agricultural endeavours.”
