Ayanda Mamana, who hails from the Eastern Cape, graduated from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University with a diploma in Agricultural Management. He began his career at Westfalia Fruit as a plant production intern in 2017. Today, he serves as the manager of one of the company’s large macadamia and avocado farms located in Tzaneen.
Ayanda Mamana is a farm manager at Westfalia Fruit, where he primarily oversees the dehusking plant. He is also responsible for managing the plant’s irrigation systems, ensuring optimal water flow for various crops. Ayanda has praised the company’s low-flow irrigation system, calling it a game changer in precision and a significant water saver. Westfalia Fruit is recognised for its innovative irrigation techniques, which utilise weather forecasting and soil probes to precisely determine the water requirements of its crops.
