Elijah Matlakala, hailing from Polokwane, began his career with Westfalia Fruit in 1995. Through hard work and dedication, he successfully advanced from a general worker to the manager of the company’s packhouse facility, which is responsible for handling avocados destined for both local and international markets.
The packhouse is one of Westfalia’s largest facilities, responsible for receiving, sorting, grading and packing high-quality fruit within the company’s vertically integrated supply chain. This facility plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficient handling of avocados from Westfalia’s own orchards as well as from partner farms. It is fully accredited to meet both local and international market requirements, which has helped position Westfalia as a world-class fruit company.
