This weekend, the legendary veterinarian Doctor Faffa Malan celebrated his 80th birthday and I honour this true hero of agriculture who has supported and inspired farmers everywhere.

From Thaba Nchu, Vhembe, Polokwane, Mooi River, Gqeberha, Royal Bafokeng, Mthatha, Vrede and beyond, I have had the privilege of capturing incredible moments with him over the years. His wisdom, generosity and heart for all farmers, especially our rainbow nation’s black farmers, continue to light the way.

Ever since I stepped into this industry eight years ago, he has been right by my side, cheering me on and reminding me why we do what we do.

As he celebrates this milestone, we pray that God grants him many more years of good health and protection.
