Brazil’s over 200 million cattle are spread across ownership and commercial production scales ranging from a few hundred head to over 50 000 head on a single extensive farm. As in South Africa, Brazil’s cattle require handling for various reasons. This includes ear-tagging, branding, dosing, dipping, vaccinating and targeted health treatments.
During Brazil’s ExpoZebu 2025, African Farming sat down with Flávio Cristianio, who is export manager for the Açôres Brazil cattle handling equipment company, to hear about the tough, smart, animal welfare-friendly, human safety-friendly, and highly efficient designs that Açôres has developed over its 70-year history to date.
Watch, listen and learn as Flávio points out and explains some of the highlights of this equipment’s design and functions.
