In a bold move to transform the agricultural landscape of North West, MEC Madoda Sambatha has launched a series of strategic engagements with young farmers across the province. The initiative aims to position youth at the forefront of agricultural innovation and sustainable development.
The engagement series kicked off on Monday, 30 June 2025, in Coligny, in the Ngaka Modiri Molema District. Young farmers gathered under the banner of the Youth in Agriculture and Rural Development (YARD) structure, an organisation dedicated to advocating for the interests of emerging young agricultural entrepreneurs.
“We are positioning young people as the core drivers of agricultural innovation and growth in our province,” MEC Sambatha said during the inaugural session. “These engagements are designed to remove bottlenecks and unlock opportunities that will ensure sustainable development in our agricultural sector.”
