While most political leaders in South Africa have agriculture on their lips and agendas, referring to its importance to the economy, it is still somewhat unclear how the sector has fared in the past 31 years of democracy in terms of jobs, food security, export earnings and inclusivity.
“We are now 31 years into South Africa’s democracy, and while the daily problems can often leave one feeling discouraged, collectively we have made significant progress in improving the country’s economic conditions,” says Wandile Sihlobo in his latest podcast, AgriView.
