The North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has announced an extension of the closing date for funding applications under the 2026/2027 Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) and Ilima/Letsema conditional grants. The new deadline has been set for Friday, 29 August 2025.

The funding programmes aim to empower sustainable, inclusive and competitive agricultural enterprises across North West. For this funding cycle, the department has placed particular emphasis on Animal Husbandry and Arable Farming, with a strong focus on value chain development.
North West MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development Madoda Sambatha has called on farmers to “take advantage of this opportunity to grow their operations and contribute to food security, job creation and economic transformation in the agricultural sector”. He further urged “all eligible and committed farmers to meet the new deadline and take part in shaping the future of agriculture in the North West Province”.
Requirements And Application Process
Prospective applicants must meet several key requirements to be eligible for funding. These include demonstrating access to land and water, presenting a comprehensive business plan and showing proof of market access. Additionally, applicants must be registered on the North West Provincial Farmer Database.
Applications must be submitted in person at the nearest Local Agricultural Office. The department has emphasised that applications will not be accepted via email or fax, or after the deadline. Upon successful submission, applicants will receive a reference number.
