The department said the session sought to empower rural livestock farmers by introducing them to mobile auction platforms that bring the market directly to their communities.

Fairer Prices, Lower Costs
“Through this initiative, farmers gained easier access to fair pricing, reduced transport costs and increased opportunities to sell their livestock within regulated and transparent systems. Discussions touched on essential topics such as auction procedures, compliance requirements, animal identification and livestock biosecurity.”
By bringing market access closer to home, the department said the initiative strengthens rural economies, promotes better livestock management practices and ensures that farmers are well equipped to compete in the broader agricultural market while sustaining their livelihoods.
