Johna Boshoff, their son-in-law, says the demand for females with calves from proven breeding material was particularly good. More than 57% of the turnover of R4,7645 million was sold online.
The most expensive cow with a calf was R280 000 for BU 180192 Francine with her calf BU250139. The buyer is Gerrit Potgieter of Ooskus Borane at Komga in the Eastern Cape. The 24 cows with calves at the auction achieved an average price of R77 458.
