🥵 HOT and WINDY in the west ahead of a second, STRONGER COLD FRONT approaching the country. ⛈️ A band of showers and thunderstorms will already begin moving down from Namibia over parts of the Northern Cape and Free State late on Thursday. These showers will become widespread into Friday, with HEAVY RAIN likely in places. 🌦️ Only ISOLATED showers and thunderstorms are expected over eastern South Africa on Thursday.

🟡Yellow Level 2: Severe Thunderstorms with heavy downpours leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying bridges/areas, excessive lightning, large amounts of small hail and/or large hail in an open area, as well as strong damaging winds, are expected over the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape and the southern parts of the Free State.
🟡Yellow Level 2: Damaging winds and waves leading to localised disruptions to harbours/ports as well as beach activities, difficulty in navigation, vessels at risk of taking on water and capsizing within a locality and danger to life are expected between Hamburg and Port Edward.
🔥FIRE DANGER WARNINGS: 🔥 Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over most of the Northern Cape and in places over the western parts of the Free State, northern parts of the Western Cape, as well as the western parts of the Eastern Cape.
🥵ADVISORIES: 🥵 Extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions are expected in places over the central and eastern interior (W. Cape) on Thursday, including the Cape Winelands, Central and Little Karoo and the Garden Route interior on Thursday (11/12/2025). Daytime temperatures are expected to reach the low 40s in many interior areas.
