🌬️ RAINY and WINDY in the south-western Cape as a second, STRONGER COLD FRONT arrives on Friday. ⛈️ Ahead of it, a trough brings HEAVY SHOWERS and THUNDERSTORMS to the Northern Cape, Free State and Eastern Cape, with 30–50 mm of rain possible and a risk of localised flooding. 🔥 KwaZulu-Natal will be extremely hot before the front arrives.
⚠️IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS issued by SAWS ⚠️ 🟠Orange Level 5: Severe Thunderstorms leading to flooding of roads, low-lying areas, bridges and roads, as well as damage to settlements or structures over populated area (urban or rural villages) are expected over the interior of Northern Cape, western parts of the Free State and North-West.
🟡Yellow Level 2: Severe Thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying bridges/areas are expected over the eastern and northern parts of Northern Cape, central and western parts of Free State, the western parts of the North-West as well as the central and eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
🟡Yellow Level 2: Damaging Waves leading to difficulty in navigation at sea and localised disruption to beachfront activities, are expected between Saldanha Bay and Cape Agulhas from Friday evening, spreading to Plettenberg Bay on Saturday. 🟡Yellow Level 1: Severe Thunderstorms resulting in heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning and hail leading to localised flooding of susceptible roads are expected in the extreme south of KwaZulu Natal.
