⛈️ The THICK BAND of showers and thunderstorms will slowly shift further eastwards on Saturday, bringing SIGNIFICANT rain to parts of KwaZulu-Natal, Free State and North West with SEVERE STORMS and HEAVY RAIN also likely over the escarpment of Mpumalanga from Saturday afternoon and throughout Sunday. 🌧️ Light rain is still likely in the south-western Cape on Saturday morning.
⚠️IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS issued by SAWS ⚠️
🟠Orange Level 5: Severe Thunderstorms leading to flooding of roads, low-lying areas, bridges and roads, as well as damage to settlements or structures over populated area (urban or rural villages) are expected over most of North-West and northern Free State.
🟡Yellow Level 4: Severe Thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying bridges/areas are expected over the western Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga as well as north-eastern quarter of KwaZulu-Natal
🟡Yellow Level 2: Severe Thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding of susceptible roads, settlements and low-lying bridges/areas are expected over central and eastern Free State, Gauteng, southern Limpopo, North West, Highveld and escarpment of Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal.
🟡Yellow Level 2: Damaging Waves leading to difficulty in navigation at sea and localised disruption to beachfront activities, are expected between Saldanha Bay and Plettenberg Bay.
