Are you passionate about agriculture and interested in building a career in the mohair industry? Mohair South Africa is offering a 6-month internship opportunity in 2026 for motivated individuals eager to gain hands-on, practical experience within the mohair value chain.
This internship is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the industry, including working alongside farmers, engaging with brokers, and gaining practical insight into mohair production, classing, and on-farm practices. Interns will learn directly from industry professionals in a dynamic, supportive environment while developing valuable agricultural and industry-related skills.
Internship Objectives
- Gain a broad understanding of the South African mohair industry
- Learn the principles of mohair classing and binning
- Gain exposure to mohair brokers and industry operations
- Participate in on-farm activities with Angora goat farmers
- Develop practical knowledge of animal husbandry and farming practices
Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Grade 12
- A qualification in agriculture or a related field will be advantageous
- Valid driver’s licence
- Access to own reliable transport
