Gideon Slabbert’s Dansior South African Mutton Merino (SAVM) stud at Bethlehem presented another strong offering at its 29th production auction, where the catalogue was sold out.
The auction was hosted by Vleissentraal Frankfort on 19 February in the Daniëlsrus Farmers’ Association auction pens. Excellent rams and highly fertile ewes were on offer.
PJ Heyns of Kestell purchased the most expensive ram, Lot 2, for R18 500. The average price of the 36 rams was R10 514. The highest price achieved for pregnant ewes was R3 800, while ewe lambs realised R2 350.
