Sizo Tshabalala – Tshabalala Farms
Sizo Tshabalala is a first-generation young farmer and entrepreneur from Mpumalanga, South Africa. He is the founder of Tshabalala Farming, a family-run enterprise that has grown from street vending into a diversified commercial agricultural business.
Tshabalala operates a 10-hectare poultry farm in Elukwatini, housing 15 000 Lohmann Brown layers supplying fresh eggs to local Spar shops and other retailers. At Gubuda Stud near Carolina, he manages a Bonsmara stud herd of over 250 cattle and has expanded into vegetable and crop production to ensure business sustainability.
He began his entrepreneurial journey selling eggs and clothes on the streets and gained practical experience in animal production through an internship with the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA). His long-term goal is to build a publicly traded farming business that creates up to 100 000 jobs and inspire young South Africans to pursue careers in agriculture.
