Rodrigo Lopes de Almeida – Embassy of Brazil
Rodrigo Lopes de Almeida is the Brazilian Agricultural Attaché at the Embassy of Brazil in Pretoria. He is a Federal Agricultural Auditor at Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and holds a degree in Animal Science, as well as a Masters and PhD in Animal Science from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). He has over 13 years of experience in agricultural public policy and international cooperation. His work has included initiatives related to the sanitary regulation and certification of small-scale food establishments producing animal products, as well as international promotion of Brazilian agribusiness.
He has also participated in international discussions on sustainability, including United Nations conferences on climate change, biodiversity and desertification.

African Farming Agri-Development Imbizo
The third African Farming Agri-Development Imbizo is designed to help turn that ambition into action.
Taking place on 26 and 27 March at Time Square Hotel in Pretoria, this two-day event will bring together more than 200 farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, policymakers, financiers and industry leaders. The goal is clear: To align resources, unlock opportunities and strengthen partnerships that will accelerate the growth of South Africa’s new generation of commercial farmers.
Hosted by African Farming, the Imbizo builds on a strong commitment to advancing black commercial agriculture through information-sharing, networking and development-driven platforms.
