The 5-Star auction of Leroy and Ivor Phillips (Dorpers) from Molteno, and Larry Snyders (White Dorpers) from Kathu, yielded relatively high average prices on 20 March at the Upington showgrounds.

The T5 Dorper ram 248240 from the Phillips stud was the most expensive animal at the auction, selling for R60 000. The buyer was Hendrik Thom from Tosca. The average price of the 25 T5 rams was R17 650, while the 10 stud rams averaged R10 500 and the seven flock rams averaged R7 785.
Three White Dorper stud rams were sold at an average of R21 333, while one T5 ram and one flock ram fetched R8 000 and R10 000 respectively.
The average price of the White Dorper flock ewes was R3 000, while stud ewes averaged R4 125 and T5 ewes R3 900.
The auction was conducted by Vleissentraal Kaap in collaboration with SwiftVEE. André van Zyl served as the auctioneer.
