This week’s AMT Fresh Produce Market Report by Dr Johann van der Merwe, Director of AMT.
Last week’s rain once again shook the fresh produce markets, sending several vegetable prices sharply higher.
Potatoes increased by 35%, tomatoes and onions by 24%, carrots by 48%, and cucumbers almost doubled in price.
The big question now: will prices stay high, or can we expect some relief this week as the weather clears and volumes recover?
