With famous Boer goat legends such as Bumper, Ramkat, Volvo, Klein Booster, Lood, Lexus and Ferrari in its ancestry, a Boer goat ram is well positioned to perform at a production auction. Stud ram 762 24 0790 of Abraham Burger from the Lukas Burger stud farm on the farm Rietfontein, Griekwastad, achieved the highest price of R32 000 at the Northern Cape and Gordonia Boer Goat Club auction. The auction was held on 6 March at the Northern Cape Livestock (NKLH) auction centre in Kimberley.

The buyers were the Van der Westhuizens of Koffiefontein, who purchased the Burger breeding stock on behalf of their son. The average price of the stud rams was R17 000, while flock rams averaged R12 785. Savanna flock rams achieved an average of R13 000.

Boer goat:
- Stud: R11 312
- Herd: R6 807
Savanna:
- Herd: R8 000
- Stud (pregnant): R10 000
Boer goat:
- Herd (with a lamb): R9 500
- Herd (pregnant, with a lamb): R10 375
- Stud (pregnant, with a lamb): R16 545
The auction was presented by Northern Cape Livestock (NKLH) in collaboration with CdP Auctioneers, with Koos Coetzee as auctioneer.
