A strong message throughout the event’s programme focused on the importance of supporting smallholder and emerging farmers by improving access to markets, agricultural infrastructure, production inputs and information. Discussions also highlighted the growing pressures facing farmers, including rising fuel and input costs, climate challenges, infrastructure constraints and the need for improved operational support.
Food security remained one of the key themes of the day, with emphasis placed on the critical role fresh produce markets continue to play in connecting farmers to consumers while reducing food losses and supporting local economies. The event also encouraged farmers to make greater use of available agricultural facilities, support programmes and development initiatives aimed at strengthening production and sustainability.

Various industry stakeholders and exhibitors showcased solutions ranging from seed genetics and fertiliser programmes to agri-inputs, compliance guidance, logistics support and fleet management technologies designed to help farmers improve productivity and operational efficiency.
Beyond the formal programme, the Market Day gave farmers direct access to stakeholders, opened doors to new market opportunities and created the kind of practical, face-to-face connections through which farmers can access information, build networks and continue contributing towards food security and economic growth within their communities.
