Fresh produce markets came under pressure this week as softer mid-month demand, higher volumes, and uncertainty around the Joburg market protests weighed on prices.
Most major vegetable prices moved lower, with potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes, and peppers all declining. Fruit markets were more mixed – citrus and bananas remained under pressure, while apples, pears, and table grapes held up better.
