The auction was held on Thursday, 2 July, at the Afridome in Parys as part of the Beefmaster Breeders’ Society’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
The Du Plessis brothers own the Janmarck Beefmaster stud near Bethlehem. Jannie and Bismarck are both former Springbok rugby players. The brothers used the bull in their stud for two years before deciding to offer him for sale.
The auction was presented by Vleissentraal and conducted by auctioneer Ian Grobbelaar.
