Here’s a summary of the weather forecast for 8-11 August by Vox Weather.
🥶 A strong COLD FRONT will bring COLD, WET and WINDY weather to parts of South Africa over the LONG WEEKEND.
🌧️ HEAVY RAIN is expected along the South Coast, Garden Route and across parts of the Eastern Cape on Sunday, while SNOW is likely over high-lying areas.
❄️ From Monday, a CUT-OFF LOW will bring HEAVIER RAIN to the eastern parts of the country, with SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL possible over the eastern Free State, Lesotho, southern Drakensberg, KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and Mpumalanga Highveld. Light snow may also reach south-eastern Gauteng.
⚠️ TRAVEL DISRUPTIONS and MOUNTAIN-PASS CLOSURES are possible.
⚠️ Keep a close eye on SAWS IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS throughout the weekend, as DISRUPTIVE RAIN and SNOW, as well as DAMAGING WINDS, are expected.
