Here’s a summary of the weather forecast for 12 August by Vox Weather.
🥶 The CUT-OFF LOW responsible for the COLD, WET and WINDY weather will move away on Wednesday, but FREEZING conditions will linger across the interior behind the system.
🌧️ LIGHT RAIN may still occur in places, while RAINY weather will persist along the East Coast and in KwaZulu-Natal.
⚠️ Another WINDY day is expected across much of the country, with STRONG WINDS likely over parts of the western Northern Cape and Western Cape, as well as along the South Coast.
⚠️IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS issued by SAWS ⚠️
🟡Yellow Level 2: Damaging interior winds leading to localised damage to temporary structures and localised reduced visibility due to dust storms, are expected over the Northern parts of the West Coast District, and the Witzenberg Municipality in the Western Cape, as well as in places over the Namakwa District in the Northern Cape except the north-eastern parts of Khai-Ma municipality, until Thursday evening (13/08/2026).
🟡Yellow Level 1: Damaging wind and waves leading localised disruptions to beachfront activities, localise disruption of small harbours/ports and difficulty in navigation of small boats/vessels, are expected between Table Bay and Port Alfred.
🔥FIRE DANGER WARNINGS: Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Khai-Ma, Nama-Khoi and Kamiesberg local municipalities in the Northern Cape, as well as Matzikama and Bergrivier municipalities in the Western Cape.
