More Sun World table grape marketers licensed in Africa

American global grape value chain operator Sun World Innovations has licensed 6 new companies from South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia and Peru to help grow and market its proprietary products.

In a statement, the company said the licensing of Delecta Fruit of Paarl of South Africa, DEFRUSA and Safco of Peru, Sadira of Tunisia as well as Les Vergers du Soleil and Delassus of Morocco will bolster its brand in the global fruit market.

Vice President for Licensing Gareth Swinburn said the new licencees will enable the company to establish brand visibility in strategic grape farming regions and markets around the world.

“We are pleased to appoint these fine companies, many of which we have had longstanding relationships with, to help bolster our presence in the global fruit trade.”

Swiburn said the Peruvian dealer DEFRUSA would start producing and exporting grapes in October, while Safco will start delivering its grapes to Peruvian and Chilean markets in December. However, the statement did not put a timeline for the company’s entry into the remaining markets.
