The award-winning SA Cheese Festival, the biggest outdoor culinary event in Africa, is taking place from 27 to 29 April 2018 at Sandringham near Stellenbosch in the Western Cape Province.
This will be the 17th SA Cheese Festival and offers guests a variety of cheese, wine, and entertainment, including music, presentations by celebrity chefs and artisan cheesemakers, as well as fun activities for kids and teens such as a cheese carving competition.
The Cheese Festival and Agri-Expo Livestock are hosted by Agri-Expo and have both been honoured with prestigious awards by the Association of African Exhibition Organisers (AAXO) and Exhibition Association of Southern Africa (EXSA). They respectively won awards for Best Consumer Exhibition and Best Trade and Consumer Exhibition (both in the category for over 12 000 m²).
According to Johan Ehlers, Chief Executive Officer of Agri-Expo, this recognition by experts in the exhibition industry is not only a feather in Agri-Expo’s cap for presenting quality events to the consumer, but also confirmation of the agricultural and agri-processing industries’ quality products and the high standard of exhibitions by agricultural institutions.
“This further highlights our role as agricultural society to promote the image of agriculture. Our success in creating sustainable platforms for interaction between agriculture and consumers is only possible thanks to the contribution of every visitor, partner, exhibitor, participant, supplier and staff member,” says Ehlers.
Tickets to the Cheese Festival are available at Computicket and cost R180 per person per day. Senior citizens pay R120 and children aged 2 to 13 pay R20. No tickets will be sold at the gates. Festival times are from 10:00 to 18:00 daily. Sandringham is located next to the N1, Stellenbosch turn-off (exit 39), between Cape Town and Paarl.
